I can’t remember the last one before He came home., He arrived in the wettest of winters I ever knew, you must believe me, where I come from we do not have harsh winters or heavy rain and I lived most of my life in the US in Southern California before we got the heavy rains we have today.
We had just moved to the Bay Area, our temporary house was located in a woodsy unincorporated community in Contra Costa County, it was a modest house, empty for many years and barely arranged for our temporary stay , there we were bringing a puppy, doing potty training in the rainiest of days and nights, I would wake up every two hours to take our gorgeous goldendoodle puppy outside, walking on piles of wet leaves He would start sniffing out , walking in circles, trying to find that perfect spot only dogs know how to carefully curate , half way uphill, half way downhill, finally He’d go and after managing to pick up with a bag in one hand and a squirmy , easily amused puppy leash on the other hand we would go back to the house, that’s when I taught him to “guide me “
he would run back to the house , often getting distracted on a puddle , the house barely used, barely unpacked welcomed us back, He learned paws needed to be cleaned every time we got back inside .
I often wonder if that was the reason He didn’t like to go potty when it was raining but as His senior season arrived that was not always the rule, He seemed to enjoy walking me in the rain, looking for that perfect spot, waiting patiently for me to clean each paw and gently rub his face with a towel to dry him when we got back inside .
Jaggerdwagger was with us for 12 Winters , He managed to get us out when it was cold, rainy, muddy, snowy and to see the beauty on every Season even when his own life seasons were not working on his favor .
Thanks mi amor, I miss you just like yesterday, I love you like forever 💫💙🫶🏽
